Greetings Truckee Hoteliers,

Thank you for a dynamic Summer 2024 Truckee Hotelier meeting and much appreciation to GM Kyle Overacker of the Hampton Inn & Suites Tahoe-Truckee, for hosting.  Please find your Meeting Notes here.

Whether you attended or not, PLEASE TAKE OUR TRUCKEE HOTELIER SURVEY so we can make sure VTT is working hard for you, your guests and our industry. We have valuable marketing materials to give (i.e. the Sustainable Truckee Visitors Guide, Truckee Travel Alert, Truckee Construction, Traffic and Roads) and links to improve guest satisfaction, their overall experience in Truckee and loyalty to your property and our destination.

TRUCKEE LODGING & TOURISM - TRENDS AND FORECASTS

Also, we have attached a newly released Truckee-Tahoe lodging report that discusses regional trends from 2023 (calendar year). To view more economic trends for lodging and tourism (past and forecast, at the State, County and local level), read the CEO Staff Memo from the last VTT Board meeting here. Also insightful is VTT's recent Economic Impact Report of Truckee Travelers.

BE INFORMED - and check out the VTT Board Meeting June 20,  Agenda and Board Packet. VTT Board Meetings are the 3rd Thursday of the month, Hoteliers are warmly welcome, - schedule always posted on VisitTruckeeTahoe.com/about

Last week, the VTT Board determined the FY 24/25 budget and strategies that will driving lodging this next fiscal year, anchored by the VTT Two Year Strategic Plan. The Board decided to err on the side of a conservative budget with strong reserves and a robust promotional strategy that addresses the post-covid lodging revenue decline.

VTT's EARLY SUMMER - SUSTAINABLE TRUCKEE LODGING OFFER helped lift June with $70K in lodging revenue and we look forward to a bump in bookings coming up this weekend with 1K+ riders and their entourage/families joining the Truckee Tahoe Gravel (VTT seeded this event 5 years ago and continues to Sponsor).

Last night, Truckee Town Council decided to move forward with a Sales Tax for the November ballot. Item 7. This is significant and important news that, if passed, will raise revenue ($3.5M annually) needed for the Town of Truckee to continue services such as TART Connect. On Council and Truckee Mayor, is Dave Polivy - also our VTT Board Member and owner of Tahoe Mountain Sports and Tahoe Mountain Life.

We look forward to the Early Winter Truckee Hotelier Meeting in late fall and Jen will be circulating our last box of the Truckee Official Visitors Map, then we will be making some edits and a rerun. We will also be sending a SAVE THE DATE for September 14th, VTT's first annual Truckee Lodging Celebration!

Please be sure and reach out when you need any of the VTT printed materials, and we urge you to please PLEASE TAKE OUR HOTEL SURVEY  by this Friday, June 28. Trust us, it will be worth it!

Have a great summer and as always, please CONTACT US if you need anything.

Colleen Dalton CEO, Visit Truckee-Tahoe
