Visit Truckee-Tahoe hired Dean Runyan and Associates to prepare a report on the Economic Impact of Travel in Truckee. The report, which was published in Sept 2023, looked at data from 2022 to measure direct and total travel impacts including visitor spending, employment and earnings, taxes and fees, travel activity trends, overnight visitor details.
Truckee's tourism economy is reported as $252M in 2022, with $179.6M in spending from overnight visitors who stayed in a Hotel, Motel, or Short Term Vacation Rental. Employment (jobs) supported by visitor spending is reported as 1,560 in 2022.
